Assassin's Creed Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected partnership that defies usual expectations, Ubisoft has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including free extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Uncovered
According to the authorized announcement, "A strange confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of prohibited practices and fearsome transformations echo through the shadows." The storyline features a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine group.
The questline centers on "strange trials and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Material
Players who finish the adventure will obtain an unique katana together with numerous artifacts concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Addition
This release also introduces the game's latest complimentary story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive techniques: Naoe debuts a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with famous anime franchises. The series earlier showcased a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla informally included a quest that obviously echoed the famous series One-Punch Man.
